Patrice O’Neal
Patrice O'Neal got his first real taste of stand-up at a place called Estelle's in Boston. He was heckling a comic, so the comic asked him if he thought he could do better. Patrice did, and the following week he went on stage at Estelle's and brought down the house. Now, years later, the 6'5", 300+ pound comedian has appeared on The Late Show With Conan O'Brien three times, as a regular on Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn, and at both Montreal's Just For Laughs and HBO's US Comedy Arts festivals. Asked to whom he aspires, Patrice mentions only two names: George Carlin and Richard Pryor—Carlin for his distinct point of view and universal appeal; Pryor for his honesty, vulnerability and personal revelation. Give the man some time, and comics just might start referencing his name.
All talent and shows are scheduled to appear and subject to change.
