Russell Peters

Canadian-born Russell Peters has a truly international following. The Anglo-Indian comic has toured the world over the last few years, from sold-out theatres to sold-out arenas. In 2007, as a matter of fact, one ticket was sold every two seconds in Dubai; then, in 2009, he shattered box office records in the UK for number of tickets sold to an individual comedy show (16,000 at The O2 in London). His comedy DVDs Outsourced and Russell Peters: Red, White, And Brown (which was filmed at Madison Square Garden) have collectively sold over a quarter of a million copies worldwide and continue to sell like gangbusters. Peters is also popular along the festival circuit, having appeared at Just For Laughs, The Las Vegas Comedy Festival, and the former Aspen Comedy Festival. Few comics are as impressive as the consistently popular Peters, and few have such a long history with Just For Laughs: he has performed six times at the Montreal Fest, has appeared on several shows at the Toronto Fest (including 2 outdoor performances for more than 40,000 fans) and hosted a sold-out all-star Gala at last year's inaugural Chicago Festival.
