Paul Thomas

Chicago-based comedian Paul Thomas is a jackass of all comedy trades. An Onalaska, Wisconsin native, he is a former member of the Defiant Thomas Brothers, winners of Best Sketch Group at HBO’s 2005 US Comedy Arts Festival. His solo work includes Waitress Wanted, which premiered in Live Bait Theater’s Fillet of Solo Festival in 2006, as well as an appearance with another solo piece in the festival’s Sampler Superstars this past summer. In 2007, he brought his one-man character show Late Bloomer to Grafitti in Chicago and the Piccolo Spoleto Fringe Festival in Charleston, SC. His new solo character show Comedogenic premiered this past fall at Donny’s Skybox Theatre. Also a stand-up comedian, he performs regularly as a cast member of Chicago Underground Comedy. He also created and produced the pilot Being Civil, a reality show set in 1866 about a union and confederate soldier living in the same cabin, and Punched in the Gut, a documentary about the consequences of illiteracy for Chicago actors (fictional, of course).
