Joe Matarese

Joe Matarese grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ, and, at the age of 19, moved his stand-up act from his parent’s basement to the local Philadelphia clubs. His completely autobiographical act pokes fun at his subtly dysfunctional Italian family, his own neuroses, life with a newborn baby boy, and his marriage to a psychologist (his perfect match). After 20 years of failed relationships, his main objective is “fixing Joe” – he has to if he wants this relationship to work. He’s toured the talk show circuit and has appeared in his own half-hour Comedy Central Presents special, The Howard Stern Show and NBC’s Last Comic Standing. Joe has also hit the stage four times at the prestigious Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, leading to two development deals with major television networks. You may also recognize him from Bravo’s reality series Better Half where he teaches his wife to perform stand-up and she brings home the $20,000 prize. Who says there’s no money in stand-up?
