Greg Garcia

Emmy® winner Greg Garcia’s creative credits on Family Guy, Yes, Dear and Family Matters established him in the world of television, setting the stage for Garcia’s credit as the creator and executive producer of My Name Is Earl.

For his work on My Name Is Earl, Garcia won an Emmy® for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series and the People’s Choice Award for Favorite New TV Comedy. He has also received a Golden Globe® nomination for Best Television Series Musical or Comedy, as well as three WGA nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Writing for Comedy Series, New Series and Episodic Comedy.

After growing up in Arlington, Virginia, Garcia graduated from Frostburg State University in 1992. He moved to Los Angeles in 1993 and was accepted into the Warner Bros. Writers Program soon after. After writing for one year on the comedy series On Our Own, and two years on the comedy series Family Matters, Garcia co-created the comedy series Built to Last.

Garcia later was signed to an overall deal at Twentieth Century Fox, where he served as co-executive producer of the series Getting Personal, and subsequently as a consulting producer on the animated series Family Guy. Garcia is also executive producer of the comedy series Yes, Dear.
